Pinterest Integration & Automated Pinning
Food Jot Blog uses the “JotCart Smart Engine” to connect an authorized Pinterest account to our WordPress dashboard through Pinterest’s official OAuth authorization flow. When an administrator clicks “Connect Pinterest (OAuth)” in wp-admin, the administrator is redirected to Pinterest to sign in directly with Pinterest and approve access. We do not ask for, collect, or store the Pinterest account password.
- Store OAuth access and refresh tokens, granted scopes, and token expiration details so the Pinterest connection can remain active until it is revoked or disconnected.
- Read limited Pinterest account and board metadata, including basic account information and board names, identifiers, and privacy settings, so the site owner can choose where Food Jot Blog content is published.
- Create and publish Pins on the authorized Pinterest account using Food Jot Blog content such as titles, descriptions, destination URLs, and generated Pin images.
The Pinterest permissions we request may include boards:read, boards:write, pins:read, pins:write, and user_accounts:read. We use this access only to authenticate the connection, fetch boards, and publish or manage Food Jot Blog Pins on behalf of the authorized account. We do not sell Pinterest data, and we do not share Pinterest OAuth tokens with unrelated third parties.
Pinterest OAuth tokens and related connection metadata are retained in WordPress only for as long as the integration remains connected or until the account owner revokes access, disconnects the app, or requests deletion. You can revoke access at any time from your Pinterest account settings or by contacting us at [email protected], and future automated publishing will stop after the connection is removed.
